Handgun Purchases: Virginia law limits you to ONE handgun per month unless you have a concealed carry permit.  Background Checks: State and Federal paperwork will need to be completed by the buyer who purchased the firearm in the auction, no one else. Must have a valid Virginia ID. Background checks are submitted electronically and the state may be slow to process or delay some purchases.
