Disclaimers:
Very Important! Read carefully before you attempt to bid. By registering for our auctions you are considered to be entering into a legally binding contract. Once you bid, you will be bound legally by the following terms and rules that are hereby stated:
All items are sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied.
Items not claimed in our Rocky Mount location auctions by the end of the scheduled pickup times will be assessed a $7.00 alternative pick-up fee. Furniture and any large items (items that do not fit into a box) will be subject to an additional $20.00 storage fee if the items are not picked up on the scheduled pick up date. After one week, the items will be considered abandoned and/or forfeited by the buyer. Charges vary depending on the resources required for us to store your items.
Payment must be made within 24 hours of the auction ending. Failure to pay will result in revocation of bidding privileges. A $50.00 reactivation fee of a suspended account will be required. Reactivation will be determined on a case-by-case review.
Keep in mind that most items are used and may have scratches, dents, dings, holes, odors, etc.
Descriptions are believed to be accurate but not guaranteed. Any mention of an item’s condition is not an official grading of the item’s condition. When you are not certain of the condition or wear of an item, please bid accordingly.
We strongly suggest bidders attend the scheduled preview to gauge the condition of each piece and to gain perspective on the size or number of items in each lot.
A bid is a binding agreement to purchase and pay for that item if you are the high bidder. Please do NOT bid if you cannot pay. All bids are final - bids cannot be retracted.
Registration is a legal and binding agreement to accept responsibility for payment. Deviation from this agreement can result in legal action and fees.
We respect your privacy. We will not release your personal information to anyone outside of our organization without your permission.
Registration Authorization:
Registration authorization is required for first time bidders prior to bidding and will be authorized on your credit card. The $50.00 is held by your individual bank or credit card company according to the length of time that they hold authorizations. This is NOT a charge from the auction company and is similar to putting down a credit card to hold a hotel reservation.
If you do not make any purchases, you will have no charges against your account.
This authorization is separate from your purchases and will not be applied to your final payment as it is ONLY authorized and not charged to your account.
Preview:
Preview is an “open house” to allow customers to inspect items prior to bidding.
Items are identified by the lot number affixed to the items.
Preview is highly recommended so that you may discern the quality, size, condition, weight, item location, and all other variables that are difficult to convey in a photo.
Unless specifically noted in the description, it is safe to assume the items have not been tested. You are welcome and encouraged to test any item during the scheduled preview times.
Bidding:
You must be registered to place a bid on an item.
By placing a bid, you agree to all the terms and conditions that apply to that auction.
ALL BIDS ARE FINAL.
Staggered Closing:
The online auction typically closes three items per minute (many differ on each auction). Please watch the countdown timer on each lot. This feature will close the bidding in intervals. This feature works great with the auto-extend feature to closely emulate a “live” auction.
Soft Closing:
The closing time of an item is automatically extended an additional one minute whenever a bid is placed within the last minute of the item’s closing time, thus allowing another bidder the opportunity to raise their bid. This process will continue until no other bids are received.
Bid Notification:
If you have been outbid, you will be notified by email or phone notification (app users) ONLY UNTIL the last two minutes of the item’s scheduled closing time.
To quickly review your bids and see if you have won, you can utilize the “My Items” feature. Items that you are the “high bidder” or have been outbid on will be clearly marked.
Winning Bidder Notification:
You will be contacted by email with an invoice listing any items you have won. This email will provide a link for payment if you prefer to pay online via credit card prior to pickup.
Payment:
A 15% buyer’s premium will be added to each purchase. If your winning bid is $100.00, at check-out you will be charged $115.00 plus VA State sales tax (5.3%). Payments made in CASH or GOOD check will receive a 3% discount on the buyer’s premium.
Payment can be made with credit or debit card (VISA, MasterCard, and Discover) either online or with a cashier at time of pick up.
Payment must be made within 24 hours of the auction ending. Failure to pay will result in revocation of bidding privileges. A $50.00 reactivation fee of a suspended account will be required. Reactivation will be determined on a case-by-case review.
Registration is a legal and binding agreement to accept responsibility for payment. Deviation from this agreement can make you subject to legal action and fees.
Resale Businesses / Farmers / Veterinarians MUST complete and provide the appropriate state tax forms for any sales tax exemption purposes.
Abandoned Items/Delinquent Accounts:
The Auctioneer will have the option of reselling, removing, storing or abandoning, purchased items not paid for and/or removed within the specified timeframe.
Pick up Instructions:
- Bidders are responsible for removing their own items. Removal shall be at the expense, liability, and risk of the purchaser.
Purchases will be released upon presentation of a paid email receipt. Please ensure that movers or anyone picking up items on your behalf have your paid receipt at the pickup location. No items will be released without a paid receipt in hand.
Please bring plenty of help and proper equipment needed to remove your items. Auction staff cannot assist with loading due to insurance liabilities.
If you are unable to make the pickup time due to unforeseen circumstances, please call to arrange alternate pick up. We can make special arrangements (for a fee) in most cases. Items MUST be paid in full to qualify for storage. After one week, if you have still not picked up your items the items will be considered abandoned and/or forfeited by the buyer.
